Mammoth Cave Horse Camp
Located on the edge of the national park, the Mammoth Cave Horse Camp boasts approximately 60 miles of backcountry trails. These trails offer breathtaking views of the park’s big timber, caves, rivers, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife.
Double J Stables
Double J Stables provides guided horseback trail rides within the boundaries of Mammoth Cave National Park. With 85 miles of trails available, riders can choose from private trail rides or guided group rides, catering to all experience levels.
Adventures of Mammoth Cave

Permitted Areas
Horseback riders are welcome to use the developed Maple Springs Campground, which has designated sites for horses. Additionally, there are backcountry campsites available with a backcountry camping permit.
Rules and Regulations
Riders must follow specific rules, such as properly disposing of horse manure, using hitch posts, and not tying horses directly to trees. Horses must be tied to hitch posts at backcountry locations or cross-tied to prevent damage to vegetation.
